Taxonomy, Viruses, & Bacteria Test Results

6th Hour: 85% Average...wonderful job! Still had 4 below the 70% mark...so the pizza party won't happen but let's keep pushing for it.

7th Hour: 80% Average...very good work! I was really impressed with how some that typically had C's on past tests were able to get A's on this one...keep that up...you guys are what earned that 80% average. 6 below the 70% mark...so the pizza party will wait on you as well. Although you didn't quite catch them...with an average of 80%...I think you've earned a homework break.

Essential Study Hangouts

Over the years, I have to admit that I've learned that when it comes to places to study--home is the worst spot. Too many distractions...internet, silly brothers, and the TV just plain make it hard to study. In order to succeed in upper level classes and college it's essential that you find a place that you can go to just study....take a little break...and then go back to studying again. Here's some of the best places in town that I've found. If you've found some other good places drop in a comment...studying is all about the atmosphere.

  1. Barnes & Noble: West side needs one badly but if you can snag a ride over to the east side--you're set. 29th & Rock
  2. Borders: Getting a place to sit in the actual book area is next to impossible but you can usually find a place in the cafe. 21st & Maize
  3. Lollicup Coffee & Tea: Snazzy little coffee shop that's only a bit north of North High near 21st & Waco. Quite quality...just went today and I liked it a lot. Good smoothies to boot. I think we should deem it the North High study site. Even have some food if need be. http://www.lollicup.com Flat screen TV, internet...flippin' sweet.
  4. Evergreeen Branch Library: Great place to have some quiet and think. 29th & Arkansas

Embrace your inner geek and check these out. :-)
